Spontaneous Fort Lauderdale Engagement Photos

As a destination wedding photographer, I always seek a reason to travel. While I was in Florida, taking pictures of a past wedding couple, Rachel and Spencer’s session came to be. I love traveling to Florida, especially during the winter months in Nashville. Not only is it a great escape, but I can be a snowbird and go to the beach. Rachel and Spencer’s Fort Lauderdale engagement photos perfectly defined outdoor fun and spontaneous adventure.

The Proposal

When I tell you these two are some of the cutest and kindest people I’ve ever met, I’m not kidding! They were so much fun to work with and dream up a session overnight with. Rachel and Spencer have been together for over five years and engaged last year! They shared the story with me; it was every travel lover’s dream. They were in Capri, Italy, last October, visiting and exploring the incredible history. While in Italy, they got engaged at the Arch of Love! Rachel and Spencer plan to get married in May of 2025.

Fort Lauderdale Engagement Photos

As we began their engagement photos, we walked through the nature area and took in the incredible surroundings. The rich jungle-like greenery and tall trees created their photos’ intimate yet tropical vibe. Rachel and Spencer were filled with laughter and smiled the entire time. You could tell they, indeed, are one another’s best friends. Although the session was in December, you’d never be able to tell! It was 80 degrees and super humid. They were troopers.

These two did an incredible job showing their love and unique relationship while having a good time together. One of my favorite parts of being a destination elopement photographer is capturing love in all its forms in some of the most beautiful places on earth. Nothing is better than exploring new places and doing what I love most.
