In this blog, we’ll explore my top five destinations that promise unforgettable experiences, incredible views, and ultimate relaxation. Whether you dream of a private tropical ceremony or celebrating with your closest family and friends on the beach – I’ve got you covered!
Big Island, Hawaii
The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest and youngest island in the Hawaiian chain and one of my favorites! Throughout the island, you’ll find epic experiences. From tours of volcanoes, snorkeling with the beautiful sea life, and zip-lining through the lush forests. The Big Island offers incredible resorts for your dream resort wedding or various beaches with colored sands. I’ve been visiting the Big Island for years with my husband. We have fallen in love with the scenery, slower-paced island life, and culture. The Big Island is an excellent destination for weddings in the States. Check out my travel guide for Hawaii, where I share my favorite activities, food, and places to stay while visiting.
Aruba for Your Tropical Wedding
If you’re looking for a tropical wedding destination that prioritizes relaxation while exuding tropical oasis vibes, look no further than Aruba. Located in the Caribbean, it is said to be the best spot for a recharge and reset. You’ll be enchanted by the island’s 40 beaches, incredible culture, and serene feel throughout your stay. When planning your event, you’ll have plenty of venue options and outdoor locations for your dream day. Stroll downtown to experience the breathtaking street art throughout the building’s exteriors. After, enjoy local delicacies such as fresh seafood and keshi yena (a cheese-covered casserole). Aruba is an excellent place for your upcoming destination wedding!
Bali
While researching top destinations for your tropical wedding, Bali will surely be on the list. Located in Indonesia and with incredible experiences, Bali is a unique spot for once-in-a-lifetime memories. This tropical island has a little of everything for everyone on your guest list. Are you and your partner adventurous? Explore the stunning waterfalls found throughout the island, especially Sekumpul. Perhaps you’re looking for a little more of a luxurious spa experience? Bali has epic cliffside hotels for a relaxing day in the spa. Consider a sunset wedding ceremony on the beach and invite fire dancers to your reception.
Cabo San Lucas for Your Tropical Wedding
Are you looking for a destination that’s not too far from home? Cabo San Lucas is the perfect place for your tropical wedding, whether your wedding is a family affair with all the kiddos or fewer guests looking for a luxurious place to stay. Cabo has a little bit of everything! Higher-end resorts with infinity pools and breathtaking ocean views or a family-friendly resort with fun for everyone. Throughout the city, you’ll find rich history, many locations for your dream wedding, and plenty of adventure beyond the resorts! Cabo San Lucas is an incredible mix of desert, ocean, and mountains for one epic experience. If you and your partner want to come back and celebrate your anniversary, it isn’t too far from the States, which makes for easy travel.
Cancun, Mexico
Lastly, consider Cancun, Mexico, for your tropical wedding. I recently enjoyed visiting this beautiful city to capture an incredible wedding for Kate and Mike. Their wedding was breathtaking, from their beach wedding ceremony to their sunset bridal portraits and joyful dinner reception. Cancun is lined with top-of-the-line resorts that are perfect for your beach wedding. After you say, ‘I do,’ stay awhile and enjoy snorkeling, touring historic architecture, and the epic nightlife. It’s also not too much travel, allowing guests to trek to your destination wedding easily.
Planning a destination wedding is always exciting. I hope my list opened your eyes to a few more epic locations for your dream day. No matter where you choose, the world is filled with stunning destinations, and you can’t go wrong! Just remember to enjoy yourself and try to be in the moment.
