Maggie & Evan’s country club wedding in Nashville was nothing short of perfect. The day started off rainy (which is good luck!) and the sun popped out for golden hour photos. It was the best day.
Getting Ready at St Henry’s Catholic Church
To say that Maggie’s family was wonderful is an understatement. A few days before the wedding, I took a tour of the church with Maggie and her mom, Eileen. We picked out all the perfect spots for first looks, wedding party photos, family photos, and everything we were doing at the church. Including the most perfect spot for detail shots of Maggie’s dress!
On the other side of the church, the guys were getting ready in their newly remodeled getting ready area. Usually it’s the girls who have the best room for getting ready, but at St. Henry’s it’s the opposite.
First Looks at St. Henry’s Catholic Church
Maggie wanted a first look with both her dad and Evan. So, of course we made that happen! We started with Dad and there was no shortage of tears from me, Maggie, or my second shooter, Daniella.
After wiping some of our tears, it was Evan’s turn which of course meant we’d be crying again.
Couples photos at St. Henry’s Catholic Church
We had some time after their first look before doing our wedding party photos. So we decided to get give Maggie & Evan some more time together and did a couple of shots of them together at the church. We saved most of them for golden hour at the country club, but I love how these turned out.
Wedding Party Photos at St. Henry’s Catholic Church
After getting some beautiful moments with Maggie & Evan. We decided to have some fun! Wedding party photos are usually some of the most fun of the day since you get to hang out with your friends and let loose without grandma seeing you.
Maggie and her girls decided to do some twerking for their photos and her maid of honor (her sister) wanted to take photos that would embarrass their mother.
The guys had a similar approach. But still managed to be gentlemen for some pretty great images.
Before getting ready for family photos we got did their full wedding party so that Maggie & Evan could spend most of their time after the ceremony relaxing and enjoying the night with their guests!
Family Photos at the Church
Our last mission before the ceremony? Family photos! Since Maggie & Evan did a first look we were able to do all their family photos before the ceremony. I always say that family photos is the hardest part of the whole day so getting them done early is a must if you want to enjoy the majority of your wedding.
Right after Maggie’s family was done it started pouring so we had to move Evan’s family inside for their images. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t turn out great!
Ceremony at St. Henry’s Catholic Church
We had done a full day before the ceremony. But we were so excited for the big moment! Daniella and I let Maggie & Evan chill for a half hour or so before the ceremony so they could really relax and enjoy the moment.
Bride & Groom portraits at the Hillwood Country Club in Nashville
Just like that it was time for my personal favorite part of the day. We pulled Maggie & Evan for their golden hour portraits. These are something I always tell my couples to make the most time for on their wedding day. The photos you take with your new spouse on your wedding day of just the two of you are going to be the ones you look at the most. They’ll be framed in your house and if you have kids they’re going to want to recreate those images. You’ll walk past them every single day. Spend the time on your wedding day to get those images.
Reception at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville
The party started and didn’t stop at this country club wedding in Nashville. The highlight of the night was when (right after the cake cutting) the Tennessee Volunteers won a game against Alabama! Every single guest took that win as a sign to let loose and have the best time.
