Elopements are all the rage, especially when traveling to epic locations. But the hardest decision of the whole wedding planning process? Where should we elope? As a destination elopement photographer, I’ve been all over the country, capturing love stories and exploring some of the most beautiful places on earth. As I’ve been able to do this, I’ve kept a short list of my favorite locations to elope by season. While planning your dream spring elopement, perhaps California comes to mind. Especially during the cold winter months! California is filled with incredible beauty, from the tall Redwoods to breathtaking beaches; it’s a crowd favorite. Catalina Island is the perfect spot to elope in spring. There’s a certain air to this spot that makes it feel like you’re somewhere international at a fraction of the cost! Its proximity to Los Angeles and San Diego makes it easy to travel. It also provides a variety of activities and adventures to create your experience. If you’re looking for a unique beachy elopement spot with charming European flair and breathtaking views – choose Catalina Island.

Savannah, Georgia – Elope in Spring

You may wonder why Savannah is on my shortlist, but hear me out. It’s one of the most gorgeous spots in the South! Not only are there a variety of breathtaking locations to pick from for your ceremony, but whether you’re looking for tall trees, Spanish Moss, or a historic building-type vibe, Savannah’s got you covered. They also have some of the most straightforward marriage laws that make getting married here a breeze. While spring is my favorite time of year here, Savannah, Georgia, is beautiful year-round. Thus making it an easy spot to return to whenever you choose!

Washington D.C.

Last on my list, and arguably one of the coolest, especially for my history-loving couples, Washington D.C. Not only is it a perfect spot to elope in spring, but it’s a perfect blend of history and elegant charm. Throughout your stay and elopement day, you’ll be surrounded by rich history, incredible backdrops, and delicious food. Washington, D.C., is known for its culture and history of celebrating our country, and it is also known for its beautiful cherry blossoms. Add Washington, D.C., to your list of places to elope in spring; I promise you won’t be disappointed!
